Circa 1830. This sentimental 18KT gold Georgian mourningĀ ring features black enamel along the top face of the gallery and shank. The gallery is topped with one bezel-set, oval cabochon-cut garnet and haloed with 12 bezel-set natural seed pearls. Each shoulder of the ringĀ is accented with four bezel-set, natural seed pearls. The pearls represent grief and tears, the black enamel represents mourning, and the garnet may represent blood or the desire to rekindle the lost relationship with a loved one. This fantastic ring is nearly 200 years old and in excellent condition!
